Now that summer is here (and Covid restrictions are loosening), I’ve been dreaming of sitting on a sunny patio with a fancy cocktail and some amazing eats! Originally, I thought only a few food establishments in Grande Prairie had outdoor seating. But actually, there are many! According to my knowledge, there are 35 with outdoor patios in Grande Prairie!

State & Main Kitchen & Bar Patio
State & Main’s south side patio gets sun all day! So if you’re lacking vitamin D or just need some heat, give them a visit and try out some summer specials. What about the Royal Bangkok Bowl and Spicy Thai Salad (did they know my favorite food is asian??!) Or, if beer and a steak sandwich is more your thing, they have that too. Happy hour is 2-5 pm; 9 pm-close.

Earls Grande Prairie Patio
The Earls Grande Prairie patio can be used year round with rolling glass garage doors that can be raised in the summer. This seating area is always beautifully decorated and feels like a lush oasis with greenery, hanging lights, and water features. And for cooler days, there are heaters! The patio at Earls in Grande Prairie is definitely one of my favorites in this city!
Earls has daily specials, but we especially like their happy hour menu (everyday from 2-5 pm; and 9pm -close) which has some fantastic deals! Check out their online menu here.
Our kids often get margherita pizzas for less than 5 bucks and I love the 3 Street Chicken Tacos!
Browns SocialHouse Patio – GP
Check out Browns patio and try their amazing eats! They will be adding new furniture to their patio soon!
I love the variety of food on the menu at Browns SocialHouse. My hubby can opt for his favorite go-to (a burger!) while I can get an asian inspired Dragon Bowl!
Red Rock Urban BBQ Outdoor Seating
Another patio I’ll have to try out now that we are getting some heat! Red Rock’s patio has a rock/glass wall that would be a great block on a day with some of that famous GP wind! Love smoked meats and southern BBQ?! This is the place to get it!
The Canadian Brewhouse Outdoor Patio
The patio at the Canadian Brewhouse in Grande Prairie has heaters! Heaters are always a bonus in my opinion since the temp here can change drastically quite quickly! See the daily specials here! Taco Tuesday or Wing Wednesday anyone???

Mr. Mikes Steakhouse Grande Prairie Patio
Who likes Mojitos???!! I’m dreaming of one right now as I stare at the summer specials menu! My top summer bucket list item is sitting on a sunny patio sipping a mojito…I’ll be seeing you soon Mr. Mikes!
Shark Club Sports Bar and Grill Outdoor Patio
Located right downtown with unobstructed street views, the patio at the Shark Club is great for people watching! (Or if you’re dressing up and want to be seen – this patio is hip and exciting!) And don’t worry – being a bar means you won’t run into me with my minions…unless I splurge and get a babysitter one day, then its possible!

Original Joe’s Grande Prairie Patio
Another south-facing patio can be found at Original Joe’s Grande Prairie! You’re not going to be cold in the shade here! There are umbrellas however, just in case you go during a heat wave. Happy hour is from 3-6 pm and 9 pm- close and includes draught and high balls starting at just $4, while my favorite fries with dill dip is $5!

The Lion’s Den Pub Outdoor Patio
The Lion’s Den Pub also has outdoor dining. And yes, oudoor heaters as well! I know them best for the social atmosphere and Monday night Steak Dinner for around $10!

Madhatters Patio
Looking for a trendy, modern outdoor dining option? Madhatters outdoor patio serves all locally sourced meat and made-from-scratch sauces! Hours of Maddness from 2:30-6:30 pm and 9pm-close daily. Some Haskap Berry cheesecake & sangria has already caught my eye from the menu!
Jax Grill & Lounge Outdoor Patio
Located in the Podollan Inn & Spa, Jax Grill & Lounge also has a patio! Their outdoor dining area opens at 4:30 pm, closes at 10 pm.

Jackpot Grill Patio
The only chinese restaurant in Grande Prairie with a patio! (That I am aware of). The patio looks beautiful as well!

Majors Homestyle / Tractor Jacks Outdoor Patio
If you’re looking for homestyle food, try one of these sister restaurants and sit on the patio! Major’s Homestyle has happy hour from 3-6 pm with $5 drinks and $7.50 appies. Tractor Jacks has $5 Bellinis!
Frontier Eatery & Saloon Patio
The desserts here are to die for! Try one out in the sunshine! Lobster and Seafood also seem to be specials on the Frontier’s menu.

Myst Gastro Lounge / Acropolis Restaurant Patio
Greek cuisine anyone? Or some amazing cocktails on the patio?! Wings are only 50 cents on Wednesdays and some of those drinks are the most unique I have seen! The mango/guava cocktail is making my mouth water!

Wing’n It Outdoor Seating
Sooo many flavors, you will be planning your next visit so you can taste test some more! Luckily, Wing’n It has a patio, so you can enjoy your wings in the fresh air. We always end up getting the wing sampler platter – just because we always have at least 4 flavors we NEED to try!

Crown and Anchor Patio
The Crown and Anchor Pub has a patio and great happy hour deals! This includes $12 Steak dinner on Thursdays, Wing tuesdays, and ribs on Friday for $9! Pre- (and hopefully post) covid the Crown hosted live entertainment every single night!

Hat Trick Grill Outdoor Seating
I have seen many rave reviews on Hat Trick Grill. They allow leashed pets and are located in the Coca Cola Centre.
Pho One Restaurant Outdoor Patio
Ahhh. Finally a Vietnamese Restaurant with a patio! Enjoy some lemongrass chicken vermicelli (or whatever YOUR favorite is) on Pho One’s south facing deck! Sun, sun, SUN!!!

Legends Restaurant
Legends Restaurant is located at the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. If you are looking for some country quiet just outside the city – this is the place. They claim to have the largest outdoor patio in Grande Prairie!
Cindy’s Pantry Bistro & Baking Patio
Just like stopping at Granny’s for a bite along with the non-diet-sized portions (who goes on a diet in the summer anyhow?!). Apparently, there is a patio here as well…score! Located in the pavilion in Muskoseepi Park.

Looking for Mexican cuisine on a fine summer day? Try a taco on the patio at Jose’s Mr. Taco Inc. Located in the food court at the Grande Prairie Farmer’s market.

Calabria Deli & Bistro Patio
Charcuterie Boards for 2?! Picnic baskets?! How have I never heard of this place!!! I’m keeping it in mind for a stay at home date-night or lunch out…on the patio of course!
Grain Bin Brewing Company Outdoor Patio
What a better way to enjoy a cold brew than outside?! It tastes better in the fresh air anyhow, right? I believe the patio is dog friendly as well.

Firecrust Pizzeria Outdoor Seating
Pizza on the patio anyone? Head to Firecrust! With some cute, round, bistro style tables set up on the grass, they have a great patio area. They also have some extreme milkshakes!
Off the Wheaten Path Patio
Serving Gluten Free and Vegan food! Off the Wheaten Path has two locations both with outdoor sidewalk patios! One is located in the food court of the Grande Prairie Farmer’s Market and the other downtown.
Tito’s Mediterranean Restaurant Patio
Tito’s has a downtown location with a patio! Tito’s Mediterranean Restaurant also has two other locations in the Eastlink Centre and the Country Sportsplex in Clairmont.
Jeffrey’s Cafe Patio
One of my favorite local coffee shops! The food I’ve tried there (the Mill District Jeffrey’s) has always been delicious as well! Jeffrey’s also has 3 locations around town…in 214 Place downtown (the tall black building for you out-of-towners), in the library (Montrose Cultural Centre), and in the Mill District. The Mill District one is large and has the patio…I’m not sure if the others do.
Happy hour runs everyday from 3-6 pm and 8 pm to close. Half price wine and gin and Buy one Get one Free seasonal espressos and teas are some of the happy hour menu items! And Tuesdays are the day for 30% off Charcuterie Boards!
Grain’s Bakery Cafe Patio
Being my favorite lunch spot, I’m overjoyed to learn Grain’s has an outdoor patio! I’ll be trying it out soon!
Their sandwiches are stacked and made on thick, fresh, home-made bread!

Try the deliciously original smoked coffees on the…patio! Personally, I love the GP Fog!
Monica’s Family Restaurant/ Sipps Bar & Grill Outdoor Patio
Located in the Stanford Inn, Monica’s has one of the best Sunday Brunch’s around! The only thing that could make it better, is being outside on the deck with that delicious food!
Cafe on 43 Outdoor Patio
Not technically in GP, but close enough! Located at the Philip J. Currie dinosaur museum in Wembley, Cafe on 43 is beside an awesome playground so you can feed the wild ones then watch them play!
Note: They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. (Just in case you’re like me…the person who decides they really want to go check something out the day its closed!)
